Per L L-leucine 13 g, l-isoleucine 8 g, l-lysine acetate 12 g (equiv to l-lysine 8.51 g), l-methionine 3.12 g, l-phenylalanine 3.75 g, l-threonine 4.4 g, l-tryptophan 2.01 g, l-valine 9 g, arginine 7.5 g, l-histidine 4.76 g, glycine 4.15 g, l-taurine 0.4 g, l-serine 7.67 g, l-alanine 9.3 g, l-proline 9.71 g, N-acetyl-l-tyrosine 5.176 g (equiv to l-tyrosine 4.2 g), N-acetyl-l-cysteine 0.7 g (equiv to l-cysteine 0.52 g), l-malic acid 2.62 g. Total amino acids 100 g/L, total nitrogen 14.9 g/L. Titration acidity: 25-45 mmol NaOH/L; pH value: 5.5-6; theoretical osmolarity: 885 mOsmol/L
Indications/Uses
Amino acids supplement in premature infants, babies & small childn.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Max daily dose: 1st yr of living 1.5-2.5 g amino acids/kg body wt. 2nd-5th yr of living 1.5 g amino acids/kg body wt. 6th-14th yr of living 1 g amino acids/ kg body wt. Max infusion rate: 1 mL/kg body wt & hr (equiv to 0.1 g amino acid/kg body wt & hr.
Contraindications
Disturbances in amino acid metabolism, acidosis, hyperhydration, hypokalemia.
Special Precautions
Hyponatremia. Monitor urea-N acid base balance, serum ionogram, liver enzymes, lipid level (where fat emulsions are used), water balance & if necessary serum amino acid levels.
